Julian Rachlin

Julian Rachlin is one of the most charismatic and exciting violinists of his generation. After winning the “Young Musician of The Year” Award at the Eurovision Competition in 1988, he has become an acclaimed violinist and performs nowadays with most of the world’s leading orchestras and conductors.

In 2000 he began to perform on the viola and now regularly includes the viola repertoire in his performances. He is a fervent chamber musician and performs regularly with his duo partner, pianist Itamar Golan, with whom he has given recitals in most of the world’s major concert halls. He frequently takes part in many European festivals including Salzburg, Verbier, Schleswig Holstein, the BBC Proms and Lucerne. For the last ten years, Julian has established his own chamber music festival in Dubrovnik (Rachlin and friends), which is rapidly gaining international renown.
